Summer Fun has Just Begun

The next two weeks are packed with opportunities to get on the water, build confidence, and sharpen your fly fishing skills with the Red’s Fly Shop team. Whether you are brand new to fly fishing, ready to improve your boat handling, or looking to explore new water with an instructor, this is a great window to get plugged into one of our summer programs.

Classes are filling quickly, and a few select dates are already sold out. If you see a course that fits your schedule, we recommend jumping in early.

Tributary Streams Fishalong Courses

June is a great time to start thinking about smaller streams. Our Tributary Streams Fishalong Courses are designed to help anglers learn how, where, and when to fish the smaller waters around our region.  We will be in a variety of waterways:  Cle Elum, Teanaway, Naches, Tieton and others!

These courses focus on approach, reading pocket water, dry fly presentation, lightweight rigs, and how to move through small streams efficiently.

  • June 18 at 10:00 AM (Cle Elum)

Yakima River Fishalong Courses

Our Yakima River Fishalong Courses are one of the best ways to learn the river in real time. These are instructional fishing sessions designed to help anglers understand where fish hold, how to approach different water types, and how to make better presentations.

Upcoming dates include:

  • June 9 at 1:00 PM
  • June 13 at 1:00 PM
  • June 17 at 1:00 PM

These courses are ideal for anglers who want guided instruction while actively fishing productive water on the Yakima.

Euro Nymphing Fishalong Course

Euro nymphing is one of the most effective techniques for catching trout in moving water. Our Euro Nymphing Fishalong Course teaches rigging, fly selection, drift control, contact, strike detection, and how to fish this system with confidence.

  • June 17 at 9:00 AM

If you want to improve your subsurface game, this is one of the most valuable classes on the schedule.

Trout Taxi

Need river access without the full guide trip? Trout Taxi is a great way to get dropped into productive water and enjoy a self-guided day on the Yakima.

This is a simple, efficient way to cover water and enjoy more time fishing.

Fly Fishing 101 Beginner’s Lessons

Fly Fishing 101 is the perfect starting point for new anglers. This course covers the fundamentals of fly fishing, including gear, knots, casting, flies, reading water, and how to begin building confidence on the water.

If you are new to fly fishing, this is the best place to begin.
