Shanks

Tying shanks can be used in a variety of ways. Currently we carry shanks for tying modern Steelhead and Salmon flies. These shanks have an upturned eye and are meant to add length to a fly pattern, while letting the tyer use a short shanked hook. Shorter shanks tend to bend less than a long shank, making them a preferred hook for landing big anadromous fish.
