CROOKED ISLAND BAHAMAS
What started as a brand-new hosted destination for 2026 quickly became one of the year's biggest success stories. After hearing rave reviews from trusted anglers and doing our homework, the Red's travel team built a week around the incredible flats fishery of Crooked Island, Bahamas, and the response exceeded every expectation. Guests returned home talking about endless wade fishing opportunities, aggressive bonefish, surprisingly good permit fishing, and the kind of uncrowded water that's becoming harder and harder to find. The biggest endorsement? An exceptionally high percentage of anglers rebooked for 2027 before they even unpacked their bags. That's the kind of confidence this destination inspires. Known as one of the least-visited islands in the Bahamas, Crooked Island delivers a rare combination of world-class fishing, authentic island charm, and outstanding value. Join our hosted trip and let our team handle the logistics while you focus on stalking tailing bonefish, hunting permit on untouched flats, and making memories at what might just become your new favorite fishing destination.

VETTED & READY FOR ACTION
This trip to Crooked Island isn’t just another Bahamas getaway — it’s a carefully curated adventure born from trusted industry connections and years of experience. A close friend who’s been fishing these flats for many seasons helped us uncover this gem, far from the mainstream and heavy traffic of typical Bahamian destinations. We’ve done our homework, vetting both the lodge owner and the guide team to ensure you’ll be fishing with seasoned professionals who know these waters intimately. With comfortable lodging arranged and access to remote, lightly pressured flats, this is a rare opportunity to chase bonefish and permit in a setting that feels truly wild. The Red’s team is beyond excited to invite you to join us — this is the kind of trip we dream about, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
“Crooked Island is the real deal. White sand flats, legitimate bonefish numbers, and hard-earned permit that make every cast matter.”

The Red's Hosted Experience
Travel is more organized, safer, more enriching, and flat out more fun with a coordinated group. Because one of our team members is going, you can be assured we are intimately familiar with the itinerary and up to speed on changing plans or conditions. A Red's team member will be on the trip to help make it the most efficient, rewarding, and best adventure we can. We have a vested interest in the group's success. Your host will be there to aid the outfitter in coordinating ground transfers, assigning guides, meeting angler expectations, and helping problem solve should any challenges arise. Your host will mentor as necessary, work with the head guide to coordinate guide pairings, and make group wide decisions that best serve all Red's customers. We are there to both serve the customer and do some fishing.
SINGLE ANGLERS WELCOME
Single anglers are always welcome on our worldwide hosted fly fishing trips, and we take great care in pairing guests to ensure a fun and rewarding experience. We’ll match you with a roommate and assign you a fishing partner for each day on the water, sometimes keeping pairs consistent and other times rotating to give everyone a well-rounded experience. Many solo travelers join our trips because we have a strong track record of fostering a great group dynamic, mixing anglers and guides to create an enjoyable atmosphere for all. While we strive to accommodate individual preferences, flexibility is key, as our primary goal is to rotate guide assignments and maximize opportunities for every guest. We simply ask our single anglers to embrace the adventure, go with the flow, and enjoy the incredible fishing!
WHAT FLIES WILL I NEED?
Permit can be picky. Bonefish can be moody. Barracuda don't care and will try to destroy something whenever they feel like it. That's why we built a fly assortment specifically for Crooked Island, Bahamas. This hand-picked collection covers the essentials with confidence inspiring permit crabs, proven bonefish patterns, and a few cuda killers for the aggressive toothy critters that show up when you least expect them.
Whether you're topping off an existing fly box or going all-in and ordering two of every fly on the list, you'll have the right tools for the job. We've done the homework so you can spend less time wondering what to pack and more time looking for tails, pushing wakes, and that fish of a lifetime.
Testimonials
"I signed up for the trip solo, and within a few hours the host and the rest of the group made me feel like I'd been fishing with them for years. Willy was the heart of the operation, always making sure everyone was comfortable, fed, and having a great time. The charter flight turned out to be far easier and more convenient than I expected, and once we arrived the fishing started immediately. I couldn't believe the size of the bonefish. I came expecting numbers, but the average fish was much bigger than I anticipated."
Jason Z.
"The skiffs were top-notch, the guides were outstanding, and the fishery was everything I'd hoped for. Crooked Island isn't loaded with permit, but when opportunities appeared they were quality shots at big fish. My guide spotted a permit that looked enormous, and just having a chance to cast at fish like that made the trip worthwhile. The host did a fantastic job bringing the group together, and Willy somehow managed to make every guest feel like family."
Kevin B.
"I came for bonefish and left talking about barracuda. One morning I landed the biggest cuda of my life after an explosive eat that nearly ripped the rod out of my hand. The bonefish were larger than expected, with several fish that would be standouts on most destinations. The charter flight turned out to be simple and convenient, and the hosted format worked great for someone traveling alone. Between the host, the guides, and Willy's incredible hospitality, it felt more like a trip with friends than a typical fishing lodge experience."
Thomas W.
"Crooked Island is the definition of hidden-gem fishing. The guides ran immaculate skiffs and knew every inch of water we touched. Permit opportunities weren't constant, but every shot we got was at a real fish worth getting excited about. One afternoon I had a legitimate chance at the biggest permit I've ever cast to. The trip logistics were surprisingly smooth, especially the charter flight, and Willy's hospitality made the entire week feel effortless."
Mark T.
"I traveled by myself and was a little nervous about joining a hosted trip where I didn't know anyone. I shouldn't have worried. The host immediately made me feel welcome, and Willy was such a wonderful hostess that by the second day it felt like a group of old friends on vacation together. The bonefish absolutely exceeded my expectations in both size and numbers. I also appreciated how easy the charter flight made the travel day compared to what I had built up in my head."
