CREATING COMMUNITY

A few times each year, we offer a low-cost women’s fly fishing outing designed to build community, boost confidence, and have a whole lot of fun. These events start with a group casting lesson led by one of our skilled women guides at a local brewery, where we cover the basics and talk strategy. After the lesson, we “Divide and Conquer,” splitting into small groups to wade fish nearby waters for the afternoon. It’s a supportive, low-pressure way to learn and explore. We wrap up back at the brewery for happy hour and a casual debrief, sharing stories, laughs, and maybe a few fish pics. It’s one of our favorite ways to bring women together through fly fishing.

THE ITINERARY

THE ITINERARY

Our Naches River Divide & Conquer outings begin at the welcoming lawn of Bron Yr Aur Brewery, where participants gather for a fun and informative group session. One of our experienced women guides will lead a casting refresher, share the latest fishing report, and offer insider tips on where to fish and which flies are likely to get the job done. After the group huddle, everyone breaks into informal teams of 2–4 women and heads out to explore the river on foot.

While we can’t promise total trout domination, you’ll have everything you need to get your feet wet, fish independently, and enjoy a few hours chasing wild trout on the beautiful Naches River—all without a guide. It’s a confidence-building adventure that’s all about learning by doing. After the outing, the group reunites at Bron Yr Aur for drinks, laughs, and a chance to swap stories from the day on the water. Whether you caught a fish or just soaked up the scenery, it’s a win either way.

"THIS WAS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED, I HAD TAKEN A COUPLE OF CLASSES BUT WAS STILL TOO INIMIDATED TO GOT OUT TOTALLY BY MYSELF. THE LESSON BEFORE WE SPLIT UP WAS PERFECT AND I CAUGHT MY FIRST TROUT. IT WAS SMALL BUT I DID IT MYSELF!"

DON'T WORRY... WE GOTCHA.

DON'T WORRY... WE GOTCHA.

Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. Each Divide & Conquer outing kicks off with a pre-fishing lesson led by one of our experienced women guides. We’ll go over casting basics, reading water, fly selection, and exactly where to fish. As long as you have your gear and a valid fishing license, our team will make sure you’re ready to hit the water with confidence. This trip is all about women helping women, learning together, and building a fun and supportive fishing community.

This is an excellent outing for your first actual fishing trip, especially if you're looking for a low-pressure way to put your skills into practice. That said, we do recommend taking our Women’s Intro to Fly Fishing Course or Fly Fishing 101 ahead of time. These classes will give you the foundation you need to feel comfortable and make the most of your Divide & Conquer experience. If you’ve completed one of those, you’re ready to go!
