We’re thrilled to partner with Togiak Spey at Red’s Fly Shop to offer an exclusive spey‑fishing week—prime‑time for Kings, with opportunities for Rainbow Trout and Chum, too. Focused on swing‑fishing spey setups, this trip takes advantage of the June 21–July 11 window, when fresh King Salmon roll in from the salt.
Limited to just 12 guests, anglers enjoy virtually private access to 25 miles of pristine river. With nearly 1.5 miles of fishable water per angler, it’s an intimate and conservation‑focused adventure—ALL adult Kings over 20″ are catch‑and‑release to protect the vitality of this special fishery.
UPCOMING TRIPS:
Togiak Spey offers a “puzzle‑perfect” spey destination: tidally influenced runs, chrome‑bright Kings, low angler pressure, and a lodge on the only permanent base on the river expect dramatic long runs, breathtaking wilderness, and some of the strongest wild fish Alaska offers.
Guiding is top-shelf: expert spey guides, fortified wood cabins with private baths, hearty meals, Starlink Wi‑Fi, and the best boats in Bristol Bay—no tent‑camp compromises. The lodge’s comfort underscores the remote, wild essence of the fishery.

“I’ve never been to a place that felt so remote yet so comfortable. Every night we’d eat like kings—then go out and catch them! I hooked a chrome-bright King right in front of the lodge after dinner one night, something I’ll never forget. The guides were all top-notch—fun, professional, and incredibly safe on the water.”
— Mike C., Oregon
“Jordan and the crew made us feel like family from the moment we landed in Togiak. You can tell this place is built on passion, not just business. I came for the Kings, but honestly, swinging trout spey for those wild Rainbows was just as addictive. One of the best fishing experiences of my life.”
— Karla B., Montana
“I’ve done plenty of Alaska trips, but nothing quite like this. It’s hard to beat stepping out of a cozy cabin and swinging a fly in front of the lodge after dinner—and then sticking a legit King! The single-occupancy setup and friendly guides made this feel like a custom trip, not a cattle call.”
— Rob T., Washington
"My son and I booked a float with Rocky and had one of those unforgettable summer days. We landed several cutts and rainbows, learned a ton, and laughed even more. His calm, patient style was perfect for a father-son trip. Can’t wait to do it again next year!"
– Greg H., Wenatchee, WA
“What surprised me most was how much I loved the trout spey fishing. The Rainbows here are wild, strong, and hit like they mean it. It was the perfect change-up between King runs. The guides were incredibly patient and made the learning curve fun—not intimidating.”
— Dani S., California
“From the boats to the lodge to the people—this place just runs right. Jordan is as genuine as they come, and you can tell he cares deeply about everyone’s experience. The fishing? Next level. I’ll be back for more Kings, more laughs, and more memories.”
— Trevor H., Idaho
Expect to swing flies with 9–10 wt two‑handed spey rods, plus heavy Skagit heads and weighted tips (T11–T17). Large intruder‑style flies in bold colors are the go‑to. You’ll need at least 200 yards of backing and a strong, large‑arbor reel to match the power and runs of King Salmon.
The water shifts from deep, long runs during King week to multi‑species action later in the season, with Chums, Sockeye, Pinks, Rainbows, and Dolly Varden all in rotation. Spey anglers will enjoy structured fishing rotations designed around peak King flows, then transition into a broader mixed‑species program after July 11.
During spey season at Togiak River Lodge, guests enjoy single-occupancy cabins—a private, peaceful retreat after swinging flies all day. Each cabin is heated and well-appointed with a comfortable bed, hot shower, running water, and a private restroom.
The permanent lodge offers a rare level of comfort in such a remote setting. After fishing, relax in the dining lodge with a gourmet meal, a cold drink, and stories from the river.
Togiak strikes the perfect balance of wilderness and comfort, giving you reliable access, modern amenities, and unmatched fishing. If you’re chasing chrome Kings with a spey rod and want space, solitude, and serious fishing—this is your place.
