Shannon is a passionate fly fishing guide, instructor, and seasoned women’s adventure coach who leads many of Red’s women’s courses. Specializing in wade fishing on the Naches River near her home, she’s known for creating a fun, welcoming environment and inspiring women to embrace the joys and challenges of fly fishing.
Shannon grew up on Whidbey Island but has been a proud "east-sider" for over a decade. She now lives in Naches with her husband Andy, their two adventurous boys, Ryder (8) and Huck (4), three dogs (Chopper, Whiskey, and Jett), two horses (Laredo and Jack), and what she jokingly refers to as "a partridge in a pear tree."

Her love for fly fishing began with none other than Joe Rotter, who first taught her to cast. But it was her first experience euro-nymphing on the Yakima River, mentored by Jason Harwood, that solidified her passion. That day, she caught a few good-sized fish, making it a memory she’ll never forget.
Shannon guides on the Naches, Tieton, and Yakima rivers, with the Naches being her favorite tributary... because she lives on the river! She’s especially passionate about dry fly fishing but also enjoys nymphing and helping clients develop their skills in these techniques. She wants anglers to be well rounded.
When Shannon isn’t guiding, she’s exploring the outdoors with her family or tackling one of her many hobbies, including skiing, mountain biking, dirt biking, horseback riding, strength training, river SUP, and ultra trail running. She dreams of a multi-day horseback riding and fly fishing adventure deep in the wilderness, where she could combine her love of camping, riding, and fishing. When asked about something she's very good at that most people don't know, she replied that she has a steady hand behind the wheel in dicey snow-covered conditions, Shannon has also mastered the art of driving like a turtle when needed.
Her go-to trout fly is the trusty Pat's Stone Fly, and her top advice for beginners is to focus on learning and having fun, rather than counting fish. If she could have dinner with anyone, it would be Dwayne Johnson—especially if her kids could join, as they’re huge fans of Moana’s Maui.
Whether you’re new to the sport or looking to hone your skills, Shannon’s energy, expertise, and love for the outdoors make her an incredible guide to learn from. Her goal is to inspire every guest to continue their fly fishing journey, embracing all the highs, lows, and lessons along the way.
