Curtis is a guide who thrives on adventure, fueled by his love for fly fishing, hunting, and life on the road. Born in Redding, California, Curtis grew up surrounded by the outdoors, and his journey as an angler began on the Truckee River, where Mike Burgoyne first introduced him to the art of fly casting. Since then, his life has been a story of wanderlust and passion, symbolized by his current home: an Airstream parked wherever the next adventure calls.
Some of Curtis’s fondest memories come from time spent fishing with family, especially the day he watched his grandfather land his first winter steelhead. Moments like these shaped Curtis’s respect for the sport and its ability to create lasting bonds. His professional guiding career began on the Yakima River, where he developed a reputation for creating unforgettable experiences on the water. Over the years, Curtis has guided on iconic waters like the Klickitat River and the winter coastal rivers, honing his expertise across diverse fisheries.
