Building on the fundamentals from Fly Fishing 101, our Fly Fishing 201 course is designed for anglers ready to refine their skills and gain confidence on the water. This hands-on class includes time spent on the water, where you’ll learn essential techniques like mending, achieving a drag-free drift, and roll casting—key skills for presenting your fly naturally and effectively.
Our intermediate casting lessons will introduce you to shooting line for added distance, kackhanded casting for tricky angles, and advanced knot tying, including the Triple Surgeon’s knot which is a critical line-splicing connection. These skills will help you adapt to real-world fishing conditions and make you a more self-sufficient angler.
Whether you're looking to improve your casting accuracy, manage line more effectively, or gain more control over your presentation, Fly Fishing 201 will give you the tools and confidence to take the next step in your fly fishing journey.
This class moves beyond the basics, focusing on techniques like mending for better line control, achieving a drag-free drift, and executing a roll cast.
