Baby Tarpon are so much fun! The leader setup is quite simple and you don't need a ton of leader material to be well setup. Start with the pre-built leaders in this package for open water fish when a stealthy presentation is required. These leaders are stiff enough to turn over a fairly large fly, but long enough to provide delicate presentations in flat water.
You can repair the "shock tippet" with 40# test as you see fit. Tarpon have some very sharp edges around their mouths and the backs of their gill plates. For this reason a heavy duty tippet is required. You and your guide should be able to build or repair leaders for any situation that comes up with this simple package.
