Known for their extra-long, glossy fibers and natural mottling, Coq de Leon feathers are a favorite among dry fly and nymph tyers. With unmatched durability and sheen, they make perfect tails for mayfly imitations—especially the legendary Perdigon nymph.

The feathers typically come in two main color groups: "Pardo," which features speckled patterns on shades ranging from light ginger to dark brown, and "Indio," which tends to be more solid or subtly marked in shades of grey, dun, or black.
