Xcalak, located at the southern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula, is home to The Xflats at Tierra Maya—a serene fly-fishing lodge nestled along the Caribbean coast. Our seven beachfront suites, with Mayan-inspired décor and breezy terraces, offer a relaxing escape where you can unwind in tropical hammocks after a thrilling day on the water.

Catering to avid saltwater anglers, The Xflats also offers daily tours for non-fishing guests. With over 150 feet of beachfront and a 200-foot pier, where your guide will pick you up each day, the lodge provides unparalleled access to the rich waters where permit and bonefish roam.

At The Xflats, we go beyond the typical fishing lodge experience, blending professionalism with laid-back comfort. After an adrenaline-filled day on the flats, you’ll return to a cool, welcoming retreat, ready to kick back and savor the ocean view.

Cost & Trip Details

Trip Includes:

  • FREE Saltwater Rendezvous Admission
  • $4,995 per angler (double occupancy boats/rooms)
  • $7,795 per angler (single angler panga single room)
  • 7 Nights Food/Lodging and 6 Days of Guided Fishing
  • Ground transportation (+/- 4 hours from Tulum)

Not Included:

  • Airfare (flights are to/from Tulum on listed trip dates pm arrival, pm departure)
  • Gratuity, this includes guides, bartenders, housekeeping, and kitchen staff.
  • Cocktails/Beer/Sodas
  • Other small expenses include optional laundry service, and small personal spending.

Hosted Fly Fishing Trips at X Flats

The Red's Hosted Experience

A Red's team member will join you on your trip to X Flats to ensure your adventure is smooth, rewarding, and unforgettable. We're there to help coordinate ground transfers, guide assignments, and ensure angler expectations are met. Your host will assist with any challenges, work alongside the lodge's head guide to pair guides with guests, and make group-wide decisions to benefit all Red's customers.

X Flats is located on the water, within casting distance of the guide boats! Suites accommodate two guests, each with a private bathroom and shower. Single angler itineraries are available for an additional fee. Meals are served in the lodge’s own restaurant, and internet access is usually available. While cell service isn’t reliable here, we have an emergency contact number.

Deposit and Cancellation Policy

A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of the reservation. Final payments are due 90 days prior to the departure date. For all trips scheduled less than 90 days out, full payment is required upon reservation. Cancellations will forfeit all payments unless the adventure is booked to full capacity. At this time customers will receive a refund minus a $100 administrative fee. Anglers may reschedule an upcoming adventure more than 90 days prior to departure, but will be assessed a $100 administrative fee for the itinerary change.

Red's Fly Shop and the destination outfitter are not responsible for loss of fishing days due to missed flights, sickness, injury, weather delays, or any other reason. Red's Fly Shop also reserves the right to make alterations to the itinerary as deemed necessary or desirable, even if additional costs are passed onto members of the party. Additionally, any expenditures caused by delays, or occurrences beyond the control of Red's Fly Shop are the responsibility of the guest. Lost baggage, gear, rods, or other personal items are also not the responsibility of Red's Fly Shop or the destination outfitter. Initial payment is acknowledgment that the guest has read and understands these policies.

COVID 19 POLICY: In the event that tourism travel to your destination is legally and formally prohibited due to Covid, or requires an extended quarantine, customers may move their payments in full to another adventure with no penalty. If a refund is requested Red's will retain a $100 administrative fee.
