Yakima River Conditions and Report
River Flow: 1,720 cfs at Umtanum (LOW!)
Water Temp: Wet wading is great! Temps - 58-64F
Trending: A drop after last weeks high water, hopefully more water released within a week.
Water Clarity: 36"+ Vis
Hatches Upcoming and Current:
The Yak has dropped back into low-and-clear mode. Wet wading is prime right now—ditch the waders and feel that cold water on your shins. Wade fishing is good, with excellent access and fish holding in quick, aerated water. Look for Riffles!
We’re crossing our fingers for a bump in flows soon—maybe in a week or so. Until then, the river’s in great shape and the fishing’s solid. Get after it.
Hatch Scene
We’re teetering on the edge of full-blown summer bug life. A few golden stones have been spotted fluttering near the banks, just enough to get you excited. Fish aren’t fully keyed in on them yet, but it’s coming. Early mornings and late evenings are your best bet for surface eats.
Subsurface, mayfly nymphs (think PMD and Baetis profiles) are doing work, especially in the soft seams and tailouts. Smaller streamers have been productive in faster aerated water.
Stay tuned—one good pulse of water and it’s game on.
If noses aren’t poking up, don’t stress. Nymphing is still putting up numbers. Fish are spreading out—think deeper seams, mid-current rocks, and anywhere you can imagine a trout plotting its next ambush. Keep your bugs down, your drift clean, and your net ready.
Vehicle Shuttle Service
We move cars, not bodies. Just choose your float, leave us a key and we will valet your rig from the launch point to take-out.
