Tying the Shrimp Biscuit // w. Rick Davidson

We’re serving up something salty this November—Rick Davidson’s Shrimp Biscuit. Built with equal parts tropical daydream and fishy know-how, this buggy little number is tied to tempt bonefish, permit, and any other flats cruiser that has a taste for shrimp.

Like all good comfort food, the Shrimp Biscuit is simple, satisfying, and versatile. Its subtle movement, buggy profile, and hint of flash make it a staple for saltwater tyers prepping for their next big trip.

This month’s Tyer’s Takeout Kit includes everything you need to whip up a batch of Shrimp Biscuits at your vise. Because whether you’re Bahamas-bound or bench-based, there’s nothing like tying up flies that taste like a vacation.

Materials Needed:

To tie the Shrimp Biscuit, you'll need the following:

  • Hook: Tiemco XS420 Saltwater Hook, size #6
