Scandi Shooting Heads for Switch RodsAnglers casting long distances with small flies on switch rods will prefer a Scandi style shooting head. These slightly longer heads are stable in flight and deliver small flies at high line speed. They are bit more difficult to master for newer anglers. Skagit heads are easier to cast but don't deliver the long casts and tight loops offered by Scandi style casts. Anglers will be able to Snake Roll and Single Spey for more distance and faster deliveries. Just keep in mind these are designed to be cast with light flies and polyleaders rather than traditional MOW style sink tips.
