Anglers will encounter many species in Christmas Island, but the primary target is always Bonefish. It's arguably the best Bonefish spot in the world!  Heavy flies are necessary here because the tidal currents can be quite strong. Many of these flies here are tied with weighted eyes. Anglers should carry about 3 dozen Bonefish flies with them on this trip. The fish are strong and there is very sharp coral so the line is often cut while fish are taking line.  Anglers should have at least 6-8 flies 3/0 - 4/0 for GT, and a handful of smaller flies for Blue Fin Trevally and smaller GT's.  Trigger fish prefer crabs as do Golden Trevally.
