Umpqua's Tungsten Bead Soft Hackle Nymph by Jason Yeager
This is one of the best "dry dropper" bugs that there is, period. Sinks fast and fishes like its hatching! This fly was DEMANDED by our top guide after he fished a few that he was given from our product rep. It fishes all year long for a variety of hatches and is a mainstay in our fly boxes among our entire staff. It sinks fast and has a quality that seems to attract lots of fish, especially some big ones. It works great as a dropper as long as you use a pretty buoyant dry fly (#8 or bigger) as the Tungsten Bead drags smaller flies down under water.
