Solitude's Beadhead October Caddis Pupae
This pattern has a beadhead and a large soft hackle so it sinks well, has lots of action, and fishes great. It imitates a mature pupae that is on its way to the shoreline or surface. The takes are brutal at times. We also fish this fly for steelhead at times as well. Most of the fisherman using this pattern dead drift it but don't be afraid to swing this on a soft inside corner either. Some October Caddis are capable swimmers and the strikes can be very aggressive.
