Good lord, can you find a better mayfly nymph than this? This makes a killer March Brown nymph and is our guides favorite. Fish this as a dropper under a dry fly or with a stonefly nymph, but when the fish start taking this fly more than half the time get rid of the other flies on the line and focus on fishing this solo. We find that this bug works very well fished by itself especially for big fish that have seen beadhead nymphs where the bead is right behind the eye of the hook. This is a great fly and gives the fish a fresh new fly to look at.
