Corn-Fed Caddis CDC by Umpqua
Corn-Fed CDC Caddis
Ok, this thing looks like a shaggy mess from the top but the trout sees the belly! This bug absolutely hammers trout on Caddis hatches. We even use it on BWO hatches when the size matches and the trout can't resist it then either. Great bug. Big, fat, juicy, corn fattened caddis!
This CDC dry is aptly named. It is a beefy, high floater fit for any type of Caddis water — which is just about everywhere. It utilizes the incredible floatation and underrated fish catching abilities of CDC.
• Most CDC patterns are rather sparse and delicate, but the Corn–fed is dressed with a HEAVY CDC wing, additional CDC as hackle, and stacked with a hydrophobic poly yarn over wing for additional floatation.
• For CDC flies, this caddis is a linebacker in a ballet class.
• Lance's fly has been proven, time and again, to be deadly on either spring creeks or over pocket water pushovers
