IMX Pro Creek Rod Review

Creek fishing is adventurous, typically quiet, and can yield the finest DIY fly fishing experiences you'll ever have. No rower is required and you can leave your boat at home. Small water fishing is appealing for so many reasons.

Anglers have a huge variety of choices when choosing the right rod. If you decide to fish streams the width of a sidewalk with your 9' 5 weight it can be an exercise in absolute frustration. Get a shorter rod, lighter rod, and you will be faster, more accurate, agile, and have tons of fun.

With so many options, anglers can narrow it down by rod weight, rod length, action (slow vs. faster), and eventually price. Faster action rods will throw flies with greater line speed, are typically more accurate, but won't make the 10' casts as well as a fiberglass rod and it could be argued they aren't as fun to cast as a spongy and highly flexible glass or slow action rod.

The IMX-PRO Creek rod is a high energy rod designed for creek anglers that want high line speed at close range, accuracy, durability, and a great feel. It falls into the "performance" category. If you are after a slow action rod similar to grandpa's bamboo... best look elsewhere. If you are looking to pry trout out of tough spots and from under limbs... this is a great choice.
